McKinney resident Carissa Bleecker and New Hope residents Taylor Stone and Michelle McCarley are taking their home gardening talents to a whole new level. In January, the three stay at home moms got the 501c3 status for McKinney Roots, a food donation garden that donates fresh produce and farm-raised eggs to local pantries and shelters. It all started with Michelle, who brought the concept to neighbor Taylor and fellow Parks Church member Carissa, both of whom were on board right away. The women, who have six children ( and one on the way ) among them, recognized the need in McKinney for providing healthy food to hungry families.
